Forward Warehousing
Spices travel a long way to reach you. The last leg should be the shortest. Our forward warehousing program holds inventory dedicated to your plants at locations across the country, replenished automatically by HELM, so that your lead time is measured in hours rather than weeks.

Program Types
Stocking Agreement
We hold an agreed quantity of specified items at a location of your choice. You order against it and we ship the same or next day. You commit to taking the inventory within an agreed period.
Vendor-Managed Inventory
You give us visibility into your consumption or your production schedule. HELM forecasts demand, maintains agreed minimum and maximum levels, and ships replenishment automatically. You receive an advance ship notice and an invoice, and nothing else to manage.
Consignment
For large programs we can hold inventory in your facility or ours on consignment, invoiced as consumed, with cycle counts reconciled through Quarterdeck.
How HELM Manages It
- Demand forecasting by item and location from order history, program forecasts and seasonality
- Replenishment recommendations reviewed by your customer service representative and released on schedule
- Lot rotation by shelf life and retest dates, not just first in, first out
- Live inventory, lot numbers and certificates for each location in Quarterdeck
- Alerts when consumption deviates from forecast, so we can talk before it becomes a shortage
Benefits
Customers on forward warehousing programs carry less inventory of their own, run fewer rush orders, and spend less time expediting. They are also insulated from the shipping delays that affect everyone else, because the product is already on their side of the ocean.
